Department of Mechatronics

Mechatronics Engineering

The Department of Mechatronics Engineering at SCET was established in 2012 and offers a 4-year B.E course in Mechatronics Engineering with an integrated curriculum to provide a broad-based education in the basic principles of electrical, electronics, computing, mechanical & control systems.

Mechatronics refers to a flexible, multi-technological approach for integration of mechanical engineering, computer engineering, electronics and information sciences. Mechatronics is essential in the design of intelligent products.

It allows engineers to transform their virtual concepts into real life applications. It is a relatively new concept relating to the design of systems, devices and products aimed at achieving an optimal balance between basic mechanical structure and its overall control.

The vision of the Department of Mechatronics Engineering (DMTS) is to impart high quality engineering education that combines rigorous academic study with extensive practical experience and prepares our engineers for leadership in industry, business, academia and government.

We seek to develop in each member of the mechatronics community the ability and passion to work wisely, creatively, effectively and ethically for the betterment of humankind.

The mission of the Department of Mechatronics Engineering is “to impart high quality education in mechatronics engineering through excellence in teaching, research, and entrepreneurship”.
