MACHINE SHOP / MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY LAB

To gain hands on experience on working of general purpose machine tools and on various manufacturing processes.

1. GENERAL PURPOSE MACHINE TOOLS:

Machine shop with conventional lathes, auto, capstan & turret lathes & spl. machines such as Universal milling machine, shapers, planners, grinders with special purpose tools section.

2. SPECIAL PURPOSE MACHINE TOOLS:

This section consists of planning machines, slotting machine, radial drilling machine, Automatic Lathe, Turret and capstan lathe, cylindrical surface grinders, Milling machine and cutter grinder, etc.




STRENGTH OF MATERIALS LAB

To supplement the theoretical knowledge gained in Mechanics of Solids with practical testing for determining the strength of materials under externally applied loads. This would enable the student to have a clear understanding of the design for strength and stiffness.






FLUID MECHANICS AND MACHINERY LAB

The student is introduced to the mechanics of fluids through a thorough Understanding of the properties of the fluids. The dynamics of fluids is introduced Through the control volume approach which gives an integrated understanding of the Transport of mass, momentum and energy. The applications of the conservation laws to flow though pipes and hydraulics machines are studied.






CAD LABORATORY

This lab primarily facilitates students to evolve concepts and convert it into a complete product. The lab includes computers (i3-i5 processor, 2-4 GB Ram, 1GB Graphics Card, 300-500GB Hard Disk) with CAD/CAM software, as well as rapid prototyping equipment. The process of design, simulation and prototyping takes place in a digitally integrated environment. The facility has been designed and structured to take care of professional certification programs for students, consultancy for industries and to also carry out globally outstanding research. The CAD lab contains advanced software versions CAD/CAM/CAE are:

CNC MACHINES LAB

To understand the basic concepts of computer numerical control (CNC) machine tool and CNC programming. The Lab has Production model CNC lathe and CNC milling machines with CAM simulation software’s like CMAS, Edge CAM 10.75, Unigraphics NX4 (CAM), and Falcon make ROBOT – RCS – 6.






THERMAL ENGINEERING LABORATORY - I

The primary purpose of the laboratory ‘THERMAL ENGINEERING’ is to show students the experimental methods on thermal energies on various engines and demonstrate their operational procedures. These values can be further used to determine other fuel properties. In order that students have a fairly good understanding of the theory underlying the experiments, the entire course is designed such that classroom lectures precede lab work.






THERMAL ENGINEERING LABORATORY - II

Thermal engineering laboratory - II is help to learn the heat transfer phenomena and predict the relevant coefficient using implementation. And also study about the performance of refrigeration cycle / components. It facilitates the students to demonstrate the fundamentals of heat and predict the coefficient used in that transfer application and also design refrigeration cycle.






DYNAMICS OF MACHNERY LAB

Mechanisms form the basis of any machine and it is an assemblage of rigid bodies so that they move upon each other with definite relative motion. Objectives of this Theory of Machines lab are to impart practical knowledge on design and analysis of mechanisms for the specified type of motion in a machine. With the study of rigid bodies motions and forces for the transmission systems, machine kinematics and dynamics can be well understood.






METROLOGY LAB

Metrology laboratory equipped with all precision measuring equipments such as CMM, Autocollimator, Tool makers microscope, Profile projector and Electronic and Pneumatic comparators.






MECHATRONICS LAB

This lab focuses on creating practical engineering solutions by integrating sensors and microcontroller. Modern society depends on mechatronic-based systems for modern conveniences. From intelligent appliances to safety features in cars such as air bags, and antilock brakes, mechatronic systems are widely used in everyday life. We are planning to conduct research and development in the areas of system dynamics, modeling, instrumentation, control systems, and design with applications to nanotechnology, biotechnology, robotics and automation.






COMPUTER AIDED MACHINE DRAWING LABORATORY

This laboratory designed to fundamental principles of microbiology including the survey of pathogenic microorganisms and the diseases they cause. It is an introduction to the microbial world with an emphasis on the diversity of microbes.






ENGINEERING PRACTICES LABORATORY

This laboratory designed to train students to study the basic principles & methods of biochemistry. Students in this laboratory are introduced to various biochemical techniques, including spectrophotometry, chromatography, colorimetry, Electrophorsesis etc.
